An Al‑Anon Member Involved In Alateen Service (AMIAS) is certified through their Area’s Alateen process, and has made a commitment to be of service to an Alateen meeting on a regular basis.

AFG of Georgia Al-Anons Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS) Minimum Requirements & Certification Process is outlined in the AMIAS handbook. The purpose of this document is to outline AFG of Georgia’s minimum requirements for AMIAS, to provide an overview of the initial certification process, and provide information, forms, and procedures on attending Area functions with Alateens. See Page 10 of the AMIAS Handbook for a description of the current Recertification process.

Alateen sponsorEvery Alateen group needs an active, adult member of Al-Anon to serve as a group sponsor. The sponsor is an active part of the group, guiding and sharing knowledge of our Twelve Steps and Traditions.If you are at least 23 years old, have been an active member of Al-Anon for at least two years (at least the past 6 months in GA), and you are willing to share your program, Alateen sponsorship may be for you. Find out more.If you are interested, make contact with your Group Representative, an Alateen Sponsor, an Alateen Coordinator, District Representative, Information Service (Intergroup) Office or email us.
